Expertly fusing the sounds of past and present, Luya’s live shows feature underground, underrepresented, and acclaimed new-age acts. Fans can look forward to dance-inducing beats featuring the sounds of Hip-Hop, R&B, Jazz, Soulful House, Amapiano, Jersey, Footwork, UK Garage, Jungle, and other deep cuts, not to mention Latin music including Cumbias, Dembow, Tejano, Brazil Funk, etc

Hierba Malita was a proud member of KVRX 91.7 FM since 2019, Austin’s only student-run radio station courtesy of the University of Texas; This station emphasizes genre diversity and up-and-coming artists. They’ve had several radio shows which eventually led to their official presswork at the station. As one of their most prominent music reporters (won their “Best Writer” award in 2022), and eventual Blog Director, they can still be found interviewing other exciting up-and-coming performers while giving fans an inside look at what makes these artists so special.

Outside of the DJ booth, Luya can be often found exploring other creative endeavors while helping others learn to freely express themselves. As a multi-skilled professional, their current efforts include serving as a screen-printing Youth Art Educator to low-income students across the Austin and Manor areas under the Mexic-Arte Museum. They paint, they coordinate events, manage socials, sing, produce, and more. The goal is always to collaborate, explore, and uplift community.
